Will controlling grubs control moles?
It will help, but controlling grubs will not control moles. Moles feed on grubs, earthworms and insects in the soil. So if you control the grubs you will remove one food source. As a result, the moles may move to another area. However, if earthworms and insects are plentiful, then moles may continue to be active in your lawn.
Are moles and voles the same thing?
Because of the similarity in name and that both are rodents, voles and moles are often confused with eachother. Moles are underground creatures that create tunnels underground. Where as, voles live above ground and do not create tunnels underground.
Why do I keep getting moles if I have mole treatment?
When you receive a mole treatment, the goal is to kill and repel the moles. Often times the moles that are not killed will retreat to a neighbors yard, a forest or native area. In these areas, the mole population can expand and in time the moles can return to your lawn. This most often happens after the repellant wears off.
Do mole traps work?
Mole traps can be very effective when they are placed in active tunnels and monitored regularly. Because bioLawn is not on your property weekly, we are unable to use mole traps as part of our mole management efforts. However, if moles are a problem, traps can be an effective tool in managing moles.
